I am forever getting cuts, scrapes and bruises. I used to believe this was all due in part to the fact that I am a “hands on” kinda girl…I like to get my hands dirty….I am in no way the damsel in distress. So it occurred to me the other day after waging a battle with the flue and almost losing … (The flue was jammed; however, I could not discern whether it was open or closed. This meant I needed to move it in the opposite direction. Try tho I might, it was not budging, so kneeling in front of the fireplace I grabbed the handle with both hands and pushed with all my might. I loosed it, inadvertently throwing me forward into the bricks. I hit the side of my face with full force on the bricks and my neck went back, way back, I heard something crack! This battle resulted in scrapes and bruises on my face and my neck still hurts something wicked…could my neck be broken and I am unaware of said break?)…that perhaps the abrasions, and ultimately scars, are not a by-product of a “hands-on” kinda girl, but the by-product of a “clumsy” girl.
